BENJAMIN VELA, DDS

Dr. Benjamin Vela is a Corpus Christi native and graduate of King High School. With degrees from St. Mary’s University and UT Health Science Center in San Antonio Dental School, Dr. Vela moved back to Corpus. He has been practicing in Corpus since 2006 and, as the owner of Vela Dental Centers, has grown the practice to two dental centers by focusing on the patients’ needs, establishing great relationships, and providing consistently excellent results.

Dr. Vela has consistently continued his advanced education with a multi-disciplinary approach, having attended courses in orthodontics, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, practice management, and surgery. He has travelled across the United States learning from leaders in the dental profession. At the forefront of innovation, he is always attempting to provide the most up-to-date dentistry available while maintaining consistent throughout the process. He has received his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology and continues to pursue further designations. Using his extensive experience and knowledge base, he can address the needs of his patients without the use of regular referrals. He is skilled in providing all levels of dentistry to his patients and focuses on full mouth rehabilitation, oral surgery, short-term orthodontics, dental implants and cosmetic dentistry.

In the professional community, he plays an active role in both the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Vela has received recognition locally and state-wide as an excellent provider, nominated as AGD Texas New Dentist of the Year 2012 and 2014 HealthCare Heroes recipient. He has been seen numerous times throughout the years on television for expert advice on subject matter related to dentistry.

Dr. Vela is married to Carla and they have three children. Together, they enjoy travelling, spending time with family, entertaining friends, fishing, and golfing. They are supporters of Driscoll Children’s Hospital, Triumph Over Kid Cancer along with other local and national organizations in the fight against childhood cancer.
